ELECTRONICS POWER SUPPLY DESIGN ENGINEER

The designer must be able to design using various topologies and techniques to achieve high power density, high reliability, rugged, manufacturable power supplies for military or heavy industrial applications. They will have demonstrated abilities in Switch-Mode power supply design, P-spice and similar analysis tools, along with experience in power packaging and layout.

The Design Engineer at P(D) must be able to:

Go from a customer spec to a final design. Have several previous successfully power packaged circuit designs that can be used as reference for new designs. Perform circuit simulation using software such as Pspice. Choose all electrical components keeping in mind proper derating guidelines. Create schematics using a schematic capture software. Follow proper thermal management techniques when choosing a design methodology or component. Understand successful electrical design is measured by the customer.

Be a good team player and keep to deadlines, and be ready to wear different hats as needed.

At last but not least they must love designing, have passion and be self-driven while doing it. Write technical reports and proposals. Make technical presentations by using effective communication techniques. The Design Engineer at P(D) will be provide guidance in building and debugging breadboards, and the layout of printed circuits.

Designers must have a minimum of 3 years experience in power supply design with a BSEE or equivalent additional applicable experience.

MAGNETICS DESIGN ENGINEER

The successful Magnetics Design Engineer candidate will have a BS in Electrical Engineering, at least 4 years experience, excellent communication skills, and demonstrated abilities in the following:

* Magnetics (Motors, Transformers, Inductor) design 0.1 to 50 KVA, up to 1 MVA desired.

* Design experience using ANSOFT, Magsoft or similar analysis tools.

* Thermal design and layout experience desired.

* Experience high frequency and planar designs.

* Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks desired.

* Experience in oil, and dry, coil winding, and impregnation process.

The engineer must be able to design to customer specifications, will be involved in all phases of magnetics engineering, from proposals through product development , including technical interface with customers to achieve high reliability, rugged, manufacturable magnetics.

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Perform a variety of electronic, mechanical, and electromechanical tests on electronic systems, subassemblies, components and engineering prototypes to insure unit functions according to specifications or to determine cause of unit failure. Troubleshoot on units that do not meet test specifications and indicate corrective measures.

Understands and uses all types of standard electrical testing equipment necessary to perform production tests.

Writes up necessary test reports as required.
